On the birth anniversary of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta referred to Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma as her “brother” and pledged to work together to complete all the unfinished work in the national capital.
Gupta, recalling the blessings and influence of Sahib Singh Verma since her childhood, praised his vision and dedication to public service. She expressed that the people of Shalimar Bagh were proud of Verma’s legacy and often wished for more leaders like him. “Both of us, brother and sister (Parvesh and Rekha), will work together and finish all his unfinished work,” Gupta said.
In a post on X, she paid tribute to the late Chief Minister, calling his contributions to Delhi and the country inspiring. “His determination, hard work, and public welfare policies have given a new direction to society,” Gupta added.
Delhi Minister Parvesh Verma also promised to continue Sahib Singh Verma’s work, stating that the development projects initiated during his tenure would be completed. “Since the BJP government, development work in Delhi began, and we are committed to making Delhi a developed city,” he said.
The tribute ceremony saw leaders like Rekha Gupta, Parvesh Verma, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, and Ashish Sood pay floral tributes to the former Chief Minister. On this occasion, Verma also performed a havan to honor his late father’s legacy.
Sahib Singh Verma, born in 1943 in Mundka Village, Delhi, was known for his significant contributions to Delhi’s development and his tenure as the Chief Minister from 1996.
